Dealing with others
For teenagers, going vegan is harder than when you're an adult. Teens have pressure form peers to conform, and from parents concerned about their health.

"When you share your new discoveries and ideas, some people may not only show resistance, but might even react with mockery or anger. In order to prevent suffering, however, we must let the compassion we feel for animals shine through the pain and anger we feel about the atrocities of factory farming. Unless other can respect us - as opposed to finding us cold and judgmental - they will have little interest in taking steps to end cruelty to animals.

Instead of expecting other to change immediately , we need to be understanding, giving everyone time  to consider the realities of factory farming at their on pace and within their unique situations. Burning bridges of anger only serves to create enemies and to feed the stereotype that vegans are self-righteous. ....the simplest statement can be the most powerful : "I know that I don't want to suffer. Therefor, I don't want to cause others to suffer." -This statement from Vegan Outreach's "Guide to Cruelty-Free Eating" pamphlet. VeganOutreach.org

I have been very hurt by people who don't agree with me. Some people were very interested, but others who reacted in anger, really hurt me. I didn't know how to deal with them until I read this pamphlet. This is some pretty important stuff!
